XLPE Foam Sheets

XLPE Foam Sheet Manufacturer & Supplier in India

NestPack supplies and converts cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) foam sheets from its Bengaluru plant — plain sheet, laminated blocks and CNC-milled fitments for aerospace cradles, defence transit cases, automotive components and industrial equipment packaging, with dispatch across India.

What is an XLPE foam sheet?

XLPE is polyethylene foam whose polymer chains have been chemically cross-linked. The cross-linking produces a fine, closed-cell structure that is markedly stronger, cleaner-cutting and more dimensionally stable than ordinary (non-cross-linked) PE foam.

In practice that means XLPE holds a milled contour precisely, resists tearing at thin webs, and keeps supporting a heavy component through years of transit cycles. It is chemically resistant, non-abrasive against painted and machined surfaces, and does not absorb moisture — which is why it dominates aerospace, defence and instrument transit fitments.

NestPack laminates XLPE sheets into blocks and CNC-mills them into deep multi-level cradles, or die-cuts thinner sheets into trays and layer pads. Sheets are stocked in black, grey and blue with custom densities on request.

Key properties

Cross-linked strength

Holds thin webs and deep contours without tearing, so complex cradles survive real field handling.

Dimensionally stable

Minimal creep under sustained load — cavities stay tight through years of transit cycles.

Chemically resistant

Unaffected by fuels, oils and most solvents encountered in aerospace and automotive workflows.

Non-abrasive

Fine closed-cell face is gentle on painted, anodised and machined surfaces.

Applications

Aerospace & avionics cradles

Milled XLPE seats for LRUs, sensors and turbine components inside rugged transit cases.

Defence transit fitments

Shock-isolating inserts for weapon sights, comms sets and field equipment.

Hard case inserts

Pelican-style and NestPack case fitments with lid pads and multi-level cavities.

Automotive & EV components

Reusable trays for prototype parts, battery modules and painted panels.

Industrial instrument packaging

Fitted cradles for gauges, analysers, motors and calibration equipment.

Thermoformed & die-cut trays

High-volume trays and layer pads for line-side and inter-plant movement.

How we take your XLPE foam sheet from drawing to dispatch

  1. 1. Share your input

Send a 2D drawing, STEP/DXF model, or a photo of the component with overall dimensions.

  2. 2. Density & wall engineering

We size the XLPE grade, cavity clearance and wall thickness to your drop-height target.

  3. 3. CNC prototype

A milled XLPE sample is produced for fit trial, typically in 3 – 5 working days.

  4. 4. Production & dispatch

Approved design moves to CNC or die-cut production, kitting and dispatch across India.

Frequently asked questions

What is XLPE foam used for?

XLPE foam is used for precision protective fitments — aerospace and avionics cradles, defence transit cases, automotive component trays and industrial instrument packaging — wherever a closed-cell foam has to hold a contour accurately over many cycles.

How is XLPE different from ordinary EPE foam?

XLPE is cross-linked, giving a much finer cell, higher strength and a clean milled finish. EPE is cheaper and fine for general cushioning, but it cannot hold deep precision contours the way XLPE can.

What thickness of XLPE sheet is available?

Sheets run from 3 mm to 50 mm; thicker fitments are laminated into blocks of 250 mm and beyond before CNC milling.

Which density should I choose?

Lower densities (33 – 45 kg/m³) suit light instruments and layer pads; 70 kg/m³ and above suit heavy assemblies and field-deployed equipment. Our engineers recommend a grade from your component weight and fragility.

Can you CNC-mill XLPE to our CAD drawing?

Yes. Send a STEP, DXF or PDF drawing and we produce a milled prototype for fit trial before production.

Is XLPE foam reusable for returnable packaging?

Yes — its low compression set and chemical resistance make it a common choice for returnable trays in automotive and electronics supply chains.

What is the lead time for XLPE foam fitments?

Prototypes in 3 – 5 working days; production lead time is typically 7 – 12 working days depending on quantity and finishing.

Which cities do you supply XLPE foam sheets to?

We dispatch across India, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Coimbatore and Ahmedabad.
